You Are The Solution!

What can we do to help ourselves on our paths? How can we focus on what matters in a world full of distractions from what matters most: Our health – physical, emotional and mental, our families, our dreams and our sense of fulfilment?

For the last 20 years of my life, I have been actively focused on self-discovery, on becoming a more conscious person, an undiluted version of myself. What this has taught me is that although in the darkest moments we may feel alienated and like the only person going through whatever it is we are going through, there is such a thing as “The Human Condition”, an affliction of sort that sees us struggle where there could be ease, or creating conflict where we could experience harmony.

Whatever we are going through, someone else already has – there is great comfort in that thought… Unless we enjoy wallowing in the idea of our own very unique misery, somewhat finding appeal to the ‘poor me’ state that afflicts us all once in a while, there is great comfort in knowing that we are not alone, that people have been there before us, and that they have found ways to learn and grow from those challenges.

Any good ‘spiritual’ book will tell you this: Your nature is Love, you are already enlightened and you have nothing to learn, nowhere to get to. What we need to do is unlearn, like peeling an onion, layer by layer, and let go of all the (self imposed) restrictions that bind us, that keep us from being the free, abundant, peaceful being we came here to be. We are the only thing keeping ourselves from what it is that we want, how empowering is that?!

Sure this means we don’t get to have someone or something else to hold responsible for the way our life is going, but the truth is: You Are The Answer to all your questions, to all your problems, you have the power right Now to turn things around, to do thing differently, to live the life you dream of living.

So why don’t we?

Well, you can start today! You can start peeling that onion and look inside… I read a book a few years ago which gave me some of the best advice I ever got. It said if you want to change your life around, do these 3 things from today: “No complaining, no blaming, no making excuses” – I dare you to try it! You will be amazed; not only at how it drastically changes your life, but also to witness how reluctant a part of you is to let go of these 3 habits…
